Sneakers or baseball boots as they were known in the UK during the 50\u2019s and 60\u2019s, were an important part of kit for the passenger on the sidecar rig\u2019s platform, as they enabled the wearer to nimbly change position when cornering or crouching on a straight.
\nThe sneaker began to disappear from the sport during the mid 60\u2019s when Lewis Leathers released a lightweight purpose built boot.<\/p>\n
