Not seen at Lewis Leathers since 1973, the Super Jet is now available once again.<\/p>\n
Originally known as the Trackstar Super-Jet when it first appeared in 1958, the Super Jet, with its sleek lines soon became a the #1 helmet amongst the Ton Up Boys of the day. Renamed simply as the Super Jet the following year, it was worn by the staff of Motorcycle Mechanics magazine during a 4,500 mile cross-Sahara run which was reported in the magazine during the early part of 1960.<\/p>\n
Lewis Leathers have launched a range of authentically made Collectors Items of these classic helmets. Each helmet is hand built to the same exacting standards of the helmets of yesteryear and all features are authentic, right down to the dead-stock strap buckles. Although these are tough, it should be noted that these helmets are not made to modern day safety standards.<\/p>\n

The interior is lined in fine pig skin leather, the adjustable inner straps are made of the same leather.<\/p>\n

The Crown is lined with a high quality Satin Rayon which, in turn, covers a laminated cork lining. The webbing is tough polyester webbing.<\/p>\n

The outer shell is a tough glass-fibre constuction which is extended to cover the ears.<\/p>\n
