Derek Harris was proprietor of Lewis Leathers for over 20 years, during which he influenced, and even partly instigated, many factions within the heritage style and revival scene with his policy of ‘reissuing’ the best of Lewis Leathers from the past 100 years – a unique approach that contradicts fashion’s obsession with the new and the disposable. Derek’s passing was unexpected and a real blow to us and it’s for this reason we dedicate this issue to him and his work while simultaneously supporting his wife and business partner Saaya Harris Nohara and looking towards a bright future for the brand, that Men’s File will continue to support and report on.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eWe live in an epoch in which self-congratulation is encouraged, but up until now it’s not something this publication has embraced, nonetheless, it’s fair to say that Men’s File is unusual in many aspects and in particular the age range of its readers and contributors. In our thirty third issue, we focus on extraordinary individuals like London-based fashion design students Si ‘Kenny’ Chen and Rebeca Illie, whose ages, when combined, are less than half of that of your star guest Mike Minchinton, shot at the Minchinton Ranch by Monti Smith. No matter who you are, where you are from or what your age, if you contribute significantly to a style scene that comes within our remit, we might feature you on our pages.
