This is a very personal and detailed account of 59 Club member Michael ‘Cowboy’ Cook’s involvement; from the club’s early days when Father Bill handed out leaflets to drum up ton-up interest at the Ace Cafe, through to Cowboy’s work at the club as it became a registered charity, and as a full time leader in the seventies - right up until 1992.
Packed with previously unseen photos taken by the author, we think this sturdy soft back really sets the scene and takes you back, whether you were there with Cowboy and the other lads, or if you just have an interest in the history of the club and want to know what it was like to be a ton-up boy and hang out in the various clubhouses, watch films, talk bikes and drink tea!
