We are very proud to release a new jacket as part of our work with Guitar Wolf, the 723 Memphis! Based on an early 60โs LL jacket that had no name, we thought Memphis fitted the bill as itโs the home base of Guitar Wolfโs first record company Goner Records.ย
Lewis Leathers have a long tradition of making jackets for the ladies and recently Ben Part, photographer and contributor to Sideburn magazine, did a photoshoot for France's esteemed Cafe Racer magazine using some of our styles. Ben kindly gave us permission to present some of them here.
Lewis Leathers is currently hosting an exhibition of photographs by Marcus Ross, Editor-in-Chief of Jocks & Nerds website and soon to be magazine. Marcus opted for Lewis Leathers Wearers as his theme and shot a series of photographs here early last December (see earlier blog post).
December 4th saw Marcus Ross host a Photocall day at the Lewis Leathers shop. Marcus is the man behind Jocks & Nerds online magazine and via Facebook and his website he invited people to be photographed in their own Lewis Leathers items or wearing pieces from the shop, vintage or new.
Every year we collaborate with a few other companies, using our existing patterns and products as a base to create something a bit different, this Autumn saw the latest in an ongoing collaborative series with Dover Street Market in London's Mayfair. The base for this item is our Mechanic sneaker, Dover St Market's designer chose felt instead of the usual leather and a heavier toe cap was added to the front of the shoe. All hardware is Black in place of the usual silver.
ย Stylist and Photographer, Hitomi Soeda, recently took the following photos of PunkStep Pioneers NOVA.Nova were photographed by Hitomi wearing some items from the Lewis Leathers archive, the shots were taken in the yard of the Eton Mission, which as many will know, was the birthplace of the 59 Club and a venue which Lewis Leathers visited every fortnight loaded with goodies and made to measure jackets for the club members.
