The first Bronx No. 384 jacket came off the benches at the D. Lewis factory in Stepney Green in October 1956. 70 years on and we continue to make the same jacket to the identical specification and still in London’s East End. Made as a response to the look of the American biker, whose image was appearing throughout popular culture in movies and on the covers of pulp fiction novellas, the D-pocket jacket, that was first developed by D. Lewis in the 1920s, had crossed the Atlantic and then returned to its home on the streets of Britain. The historical record shows this style was worn by British rockers, greasers, punks and rock legends.

Bronx & Twin Track Bronx
When the Bronx celebrated its 10th anniversary in 1966, the Twin Track Bronx No. 440 made its debut. It brought a number of innovations, including a twin track front zip, previously unseen on any jacket, a dual entry ‘tunnel’ pocket on the back, and the first ever zipped sleeve pocket.
