59 Club in Colour!

Colour photographs of the 59 Club are hard to find so these stills from outside the old Paddington HQ are worth taking a look at. These images are from a short Pathe News Story on The Volunteer Emergency Service which shows the Ton Up Boys in a good light delivering blood to hospitals etc.

The year is 1967 and the 59’ers can be seen be seen riding up and down Bishop’s Bridge Road and turning into Gloucester Terrace, presumably en route to meet Father Bill.

At the end of the footage there is a scene of 59 Club members outside the Paddington St Mary’s Schools premises, ‘Farv’ Shergold cuts a dash in his Twin Track Bronx in the last few frames.
