Show us Your Photographs

Show us Your Photographs wearing Lewis Leathers, S. Lewis and D. Lewis 1926 to 1996.

You might know that Lewis Leathers released a book on our history in 2017 called Wings, Wheels and Rock’n’Roll Vol. 1. Penned by Rin Tanaka and Derek Harris, this covered the period from the firm arriving in Gt Portland St, in London’s West End around 1892 and showed the progress of the company and clothing up until the mid-1960s – all on 250 sumptuous pages.
We are currently working on Wings, Wheels and Rock’n’Roll Vol 2. Subtitled ‘Subcultures and Scenes 1965 to 2025’ and we would like to include a chapter dedicated to your photographs that show you wearing Lewis Leathers, S. Lewis or D. Lewis clothing. You might have been on the British bike scene in the 1950s, a scooter rider in the 1960s, a punk rocker in the 1970s or a club-goer in the post-punk epoch – all social landscapes in which Lewis Leathers apparel was frequently seen.
Photographs submitted should be high quality scans, although a shot from a phone would work initially. Images should be of you or perhaps historic images of relations from the pre-war period. We need your name, the year and place of the photograph and the name of the photographer – if known.
Our intention is to increase the historical record of Lewis Leathers and we would like to use a ‘selection’ (we can’t use them all) of the photographs submitted in the book, on the website and on our social media. Just to be clear, there are no fees involved.
