Lewis Leathers is proud to present the newest addition to its range of sturdy motorcycle footwear. The Mechanic Boot is based on the 1930’s ‘engineer’ style boot that was originally fashioned over an English Riding Boot last and worn by land surveyors and train and telegraph engineers. Later the style grew in popularity with the younger generation and motorcyclists due to wearers such as Marlon Brando in the 1953 film The Wild One.

Whereas the engineer boot has since evolved in the US to be wider with a rounder toe, Lewis Leathers has retained the original slim elegance and even utilises the Goodyear welt construction used in the earliest examples to ensure long lasting wear. |

Some good news on our A10 Mechanic Boot, we have been busy adjusting the ankle section to provide a better experience taking them on and off whilst still providing a snug fit. Made in jet black polished Bull leather for a sleek look and extra durability. Unique details such as our gold embossed logo expansion placket in Lewis Leathers’ trademark red help you stand out in a crowd. Our boots are made to the same exacting specifications and patterns of the period in which they were first created.
Our Northampton maker takes great care in maintaining the quality and integrity of our boots, right down to the Goodyear Welted construction and custom-made, period specific buckles. Please bear in mind that, due to our attention to vintage detailing, these boots may not meet present-day PPE safety standards and are not intended to do so.
Today our boots are still hand-made here in Northampton, home of British boot making, the original patterns and cutting knives are still used in the production and construction of the boots ensuring authenticity.
